Our EQUIPMENT & METHODS include:
- Infra-red Thermal Imaging Cameras
- Moisture Metres
- Concrete Testing and Analysis Equipment
- Concrete Scanning Equipment
Our infra-red thermal imaging camera is a Testo 875-21 Versatile Thermal Imager, operated by a trained building inspector. It has a thermal sensitivity of <50mk, and can display mould detection. Recently, a thermal imaging survey has become an important part of the Commercial Premises Fire Risk assessment tool now required by many insurance companies. The most important reason to have a thermal inspection done is to ensure fire safety, which reduces insurance premiums and future costs and damages. The camera can non-invasively spot ‘hot joints’ invisible to the human eye, so this method takes less time, money and mess than invasive procedures, and it is incredibly specific and reliable.
Our moisture metres are also the latest Testo technology. We use the Testo 606-2 Material Moisture Metre with Temp and Humidity to measure wood, cement and screed with a curvature for different types of building materials. This measures temperature, humidity and dewpoint, and can do wet bulb calculations. The other type of moisture metre our building inspectors use is the Testo 616 Material Moisture Metre that also measures wood and building materials, but has more precise measurements up to a material depth of 5cm, and has 10 profiles for different types of building materials (such as concrete, drywall, subflooring, etc.), and wood.
In terms of concrete testing, analysis, and scanning equipment, TBE Solutions do not own this equipment as it is too specialised and there is an enormous range of products which can become necessary to analyse a portion of concrete. When a specific piece of testing equipment is necessary we either hire the equipment for you or request a preferred contractor to attend the site and operate the equipment. We can organise to test concrete before it is applied (such as a slump test) and from a set or old concrete slab (such as core samples). Because concrete is such a widely used building material, testing is conducted regularly everywhere to ensure no major disasters occur.
